As the dutch would say – Hoi!

Hallo, Hoi, Goedemiddag!

Last day in Canada for a month, just practicing my “hello”. So I am off today at 6:30pm, picked a nice seat, got my boarding pass printed out, and I’ve got some comfy travel clothes ready to go! I’ll be landing in Amsterdam tomorrow morning around 7:30am local time and staying in a very nice hostel for two nights.

I’ve already been to Amsterdam so I wasn’t going to make it a really long trip, I just wanted the opportunity to see a few things I missed last time, go to the Anne Frank house again, some museums, and wander the city a bit more! Maybe I’ll rent a bike 🙂 You should see the bike lanes they have there – you do not want to get in the way of these guys.

After that I’m on an Eastjet (groan) flight to Prague, and I’ll be staying there for a bit longer, 6 days in total including travel day in and out (though I arrive pretty late). Never been to Prague, so I’m really looking forward to it – heard great things.

From Prague I’ll be taking what might wind up being my only (long) train trip this time around, an overnight from there to Krakow, Poland, where my main agenda item is to visit Auschwitz I and Auschwitz II-Birkenau camps / museums. After seeing so many museums and so much talk about the war and these camps throughout my last trip, I thought this was a must.

So that’s the immediate agenda! To hopefully prevent more sickness on this trip, I’ve spent the insane amount of $75 to load up on a whole bunch of vitamins that are supposed to keep me healthy and active on this trip, so we’ll see how they work. If I get sick anyway, I’m going to be very unhappy.

Packing is done, just a few odds and ends to toss in. Room is clean, laundry is done, or almost done, and hopefully I’ve got everything. We’ll see about that.

I’m excited 😀 looking forward to a great month, some amazing pictures, terrific experiences and awesome people.

Tot ziens! (see you later)
