One more month…

Well it’s been a while!

I haven’t really been blogging (at all) since returning to Canada. I have made it out of the country a couple of times – one on a trip with my Mom to New York City (first time for me), and another with my brother for a week away aboard the Oasis of the Seas sailing out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

However neither of these trips were really “blog worthy”, if you will. Both fantastic, but nothing extremely out of the ordinary. Got some nice pictures from both, now on Facebook, but not quite comparable.

That is all about to change! Yes indeed. Though I’ve been thinking about it for a while, I made the rather spontaneous decision a few days ago to head out for another month to Europe. Found a fantastic price on a flight to Amsterdam which sealed the deal, and I don’t have that much time to get excited or think about it since I’m now leaving in two days! (Wednesday)

So what’s the plan? Great question. As per usual I’m not planning in any extreme detail, but I do have a pretty good idea of where I want to go. I’m heading back to a couple of places I loved, and visiting a bunch of places I feel I missed. I may not reach every single one (it’s only a month), and I may add a couple others, but here’s the tentative list.

  • Amsterdam
  • Prague
  • Poland (Krakow / Warsaw)
  • Vienna
  • Munich
  • Florence
  • Madrid
  • Lyon and Paris (France)

Lots to do for a month, still deciding exactly how much time to spend in each place. I’d like to make sure I have time to experience the country, but I also want to get around as much as possible. A delicate balance to be sure. Also considering tacking Morocco on there. We’ll see how it goes.

I’ll post again tomorrow as I wrap up packing and then maybe again from the airport on Wednesday. I’m very excited to be up and running again, I really miss the beauty of Europe, and the excitement of travel and waking up in a new place every week. It’s going to be a fun month 🙂

Quick edit! I’ve added a super handy dandy uber cool map thing to the front page now 🙂 Basically I used the Foursquare and Google Maps API to create a little webpage that will update itself every time I connect to a spot on Foursquare. It will add a peg for every city that I visit, show my face in the last place I visited, and if in Europe will show my flight path! 😀

Talk to you soon…
